Tina Munkholm Larsen

Legal apprentice

Steffensen Law Office

I'm reviewing a course I took as part of my required continuing legal education.

I chose this course because I wanted to improve my skills in the courtroom, for meetings with clients, and to have tools for different kinds of negotiations.

And I got so much more out of it!

I'd call this course a "lawyer's secret weapon", since I feel like every lawyer ought to take this course.

In the course, I was trained to use my voice correctly, to have the right attitude, to place myself in a room as best I can, to capture and hold people's attention, and to communicate a message (to a jury, a judge, a client, people in negotiations, colleagues, and my boss) in a natural, comfortable, and clear albeit a sharp manner.

I really recommend this course, since it provides you with an indispensable, secret weapon that is so decisive and essential, but which many people neglect and forget about:

personal, professional presentation, with a focus on the correct use of your voice, your posture, your placement in the room, and your ability to get a message across simply and precisely.

Specifically, the course gave me a way to use my voice in a better manner, and gave me more pointed ways of getting my point across, better posture, and fantastic insight into all that I could accomplish by improving my personal and professional presentation.

When I contacted Sasha, I already had some experience with presentations.

I got in touch with Sasha because I was going to be giving a very important presentation, where it was really important for me to drive my message home.

The feedback I eventually got has confirmed that this is exactly what happened after I worked with Sasha.

The biggest difference is that now, I have a much more structured approach. Sasha has given me some really great, concrete tools to work with.

And what's really significant is that I also have more self-confidence as a presenter.

Sasha was recommended to me by another speaking business.

The time I spent with Sasha has helped me immensely, in that I now have these rhetorical tools that make me able to communicate more effectively in a wide variety of situations.

This goes for large conferences, informal/formal meetings, and interviews

on radio or TV.

Above everything else, Sasha's expert, inspiring coaching has made those

tools really stick with me. It's not like how it usually goes, where you forget them

when you get back to everyday life.

In other words, Sasha has made a world of difference in my ability to communicate

and to deliver results.

Recommended in the communications industry.

Thank you so much for those two fantastic days at the stadium.

You were "bloody great"!

I don't recall having been to a class where the participants were so active as they were those two days.

You made it really special, and I think we all came out of it with more than we expected. It was the best.

On the drive back home, I felt totally uplifted. You really managed to turn it into something unique for each person.

Fantastic personality, a sparkle in the eye, an unusual pleasant and efficient instructor.

I'm experienced in upper-level management. So, over the years, I've learned the importance of how you present yourself when you want to succeed in your goals.

I got in touch with Sasha because I wanted to improve my rhetoric, use of language, my voice, and my body language in my work as a leader.

After training with Sasha, it seems like my messages are being better received.

What's really made a difference is that I have more clarity about exactly what I want out of a meeting or an appearance, and about which tools I can use – especially in terms of rhetoric. When I'm going to be "up", in an important situation, I think through how I'll act in the room and how I can phrase my message.

I think people who are truly interested in how their performance affects others could derive a lot of benefit from working with Sasha!

And most leaders ought to have such an interest.

Sasha Lystrup Andersen’s educational background testifies that she is in possession of precisely those qualifications that are required of a speech trainer at The Royal DansihTheatre.

For example: training in the physiology of the voice, so that we can succeed in avoiding vocal cord nodules and hoarseness; in-depth knowledge of literary and dramatic genres, such as metrics and classical verse forms (something in which we need to have expert guidance every now and then); and many years of experience as a vocal coach in the world of Danish theater.

In addition to these qualifications, Sasha Lystrup Andersen is a musical person who, with just the right finger on the pulse of things, is perfectly capable of “finding her spot” during the sequence of rehearsals and who can then offer her comments at just the “right” moments: this is nothing less than a refined art, which protects the actor from being confused and frustrated when faced with a barrage of critical comments from both the director and the speech trainer.
This flexible way of coming to grips with the “note situation” gives room and peace of mind to the actor during the course of working toward coming across the footlights, when it comes to using the voice and when it comes to enunciating the language.

The very fact that Sasha Lystrup Andersen has been a student of Keld Thaarup – who (as I see it) most of the actors at The Royal Theater feel has been of invaluable help through the years – only serves to amplify my recommendation. As a consequence of this apprenticeship with Keld, she can preserve the continuity and insist on The Royal Theatre’s “signature method”. Another great plus is that she has had her base of operations inside the theater since 2001.

For this reason, she falls naturally into place when it comes to working with the plays.

I cannot do otherwise than offer my warmest recommendation that Sasha Lystrup Andersen be employed as a speech trainer at The Royal DanishTheatre.

I would like to recommend Sasha Lystrup Andersen as a speech instructor at

The Royal Dansih Theatre.

For my own part, I have been most delighted with her help.

She has a rare and discreet musicality during a rehearsal sequence and an enormous capacity to move her way around, while offering guidance and instruction, during the difficult and delicate situation inside which the actor finds him/herself during the mounting of such a production.
Ergo, my wholehearted recommendation.

I have been working with Sasha in connection with the piece entitled Kollektivet.I’ve learned a lot from working together with Sasha and would be pleased to shed light here on some of our experiences.Sasha is incredibly adept at meeting you right where you happen to be and at speaking with you on this situational basis. She works both with specifically technical voice-related problems but also with everything else that might affect the voice/the speech/the feeling for the lines and the play. She moves right into the scenes and the intentions and poses some very essential questions without necessarily having all the answers. But this, in turn activates certain reflections within me, as an actress. In the course of setting up the show, she has been following us at close range and has therefore always known where we were. She has always been available to me, with a generous smile and an overflowing sense of enthusiasm. And she has been good at generating the same passion and joy within me.I am therefore pleased to give Sasha my warmest recommendations.

As a performer in The Royal Danish Theatre's production of Havoc in 2014, I really enjoyed having Sasha Lystrup Andersen as as my speaking coach.

This particular theatrical space was new to me, but with the utmost professionalism and in just a few words, she could explain things and help me with the techniques I needed to elevate and improve my lines.

I've worked with Sasha Lystrup Andersen in her capacity as a speaking coach for the production of Havoc at The Royal Danish Theatre.

Besides her precise descriptions of what you can do better in terms of your voice, to be able to address a huge hall and still maintain the authenticity, Sasha also possesses that personal knowledge that a person needs to be a Really Great Speaking Coach.

She understands the work of an actor, and she understands when's the best time to say something and how to say it, so as to avoid disrupting the process of putting together a production.

It's often difficult to picture yourself from outside when you're on the stage, so it's great that knowing the way theatre works, Sasha knows just what to say to get what’s needed out of you. Often, it's just making simple little adjustments. But the simple things can often be the hardest. Sasha manages to make them easy, and not hard.

I strongly recommend Sasha Lystrup Andersen as a voice coach in performance contexts.

She's immensely helpful in rehearsals and she really takes a load off of the director's shoulders with her way of focusing on making sure each role  is clearly audible and well balanced.

And she does all this from a standpoint of professionalism that so few directors have.

Over the years, I've had the pleasure of working with Sasha at The Royal Danish Theatre.
In short, she is serious and skilled!

She has a visualising kind of approach to her work. She's discreet. She has the awareness to read a room.

The understanding that enables her to work in a wide variety of different situations.
